About: I am the Director of the Centre for Respiratory Infection (CRI)and an Honorary Physician in the Department of Respiratory Medicine. I work on the regulation of immune responses to respiratory viral infection and lead the MOSAIC study of pandemic flu. I'm a member of the Department of Health’s Scientific Pandemic Influenza (SPI) Advisory Group and Vice-President for the European Scientific Working Group on Influenza (ESWI). I was on the Scientific Advisory Group in Emergencies (SAGE) that advised the UK cabinet on pandemic policy and am on the JCVI influenza subcommittee.
